Kitsap Credit Union has been chosen as the lead sponsor of the February, 2008 CVG Show –a Statewide Professional Art Competition organized and presented by Bremerton’s Collective Visions Gallery. The CVG Show will feature 150 artworks in all media chosen from over 600 pieces submitted by artists from across the state by noted museum curator Susan Parke.

Parke will also select pieces to receive $6,000 in cash prizes. A preview of the exhibit will be conducted at the Gallery on February 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Award winners will be officially posted when the show opens at noon Saturday, February 2. Votes for the $300 “Peoples Choice” award can be cast on both February 1 and 2.

On the evening of February 2, KCU will host three exhibit-related events on the 4th floor of our Harborside Corporate Office Building at Second and Washington in Bremerton. A reception for the artists is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A lecture by juror Susan Parke at 7:45 p.m. titled, “Contemporary Art in Washington State,” will include comments on her criteria for acceptance into the exhibition and the selection of the awards.
